"I want you and Trina to know that I came home more present and connected... to my heart and soul, my creativity and intuition...and my world. Thank you for that!" Gerry Lodder, PhotoCuba! 2006 Student " I remember this trip not so much as taking pictures, but as sharing images. I really like the idea of balancing our imposition with giving back to the community-in fact I wish that it could always be balanced more heavily on the latter- I think you are really on to something here. It was a wonderful trip". Tom Buis, PhotoCuba! 2006 Student

First of all it is important to note that any level of photographer is welcome to participate in this exciting cultural experience. This workshop is about exploring something new, and using your camera to help you do so. This is not a technical course! You may participate in this learning enviroment with a simple point and shoot camera digital camera or with top of the line pro gear. We have hosted many different kinds of people from experienced professionals, hobbyists, accountants, highschool students, retirees...all people who just love to make photos and want to open their eyes up to the world. All you really need is a sense of adventure, the willingness to try and the desire to have fun with your camera in a new place! The $495 course fee includes photography lessons taught by Trina Koster on travel photography, storytelling with your camera, composition and design, portraiture-gestures and lighting and most of all connecting with people and emersing yourself with camera in a new culture. Trina will be co-critiquing all of the participants progress with German Portuondo. German is a surrealistic Cuban painter and is also the director of the central art gallery in the village we will be staying in, Chivirico. In previous workshops German has brought great insight and a truly unique perspective to the Canadian photographers understanding of their images.

Between 8:30-10am each morning there will be instruction in local Cuban culture, basic Spanish lessons and optional Salsa dance lesson.

In the middle of the week we will venture out on a guided trip to historical downtown Santiago de Cuba and El Morro castle in a deluxe tour bus, and many more adventurous experiences.
